Straight into employment

At Peopleforce Recruitment, we understand that not everyone enters the fire and security sector with formal qualifications or experience. Don’t worry if you don’t have experience or these qualifications yet, as there are many trainee opportunities available to get you started.

We have successfully helped candidates begin their careers by placing them in trainee engineer roles.

Here’s what one candidate had to say about his experience:

Why are the right qualifications and skills important?

Having the right qualifications and skills is essential for ensuring you can carry out your responsibilities effectively and safely. Fire and Security Engineers ply a critical role in designing and maintaining systems that protect lives and property. Without proper training and expertise, the systems you implement may not meet regulatory standards, leading to serious safety risks. Additionally, possessing recognised qualifications enhances your credibility and employability, opening doors to more opportunities in this sector

To thrive in this sector, you will need:

  • Knowledge of engineering science and technology: to design and implement effective fire safety systems
  • Design skills and knowledge: to create solutions that comply with safety standards
  • Mathematical skills: for precise calculations in engineering projects
  • Understanding of building and construction: to ensure systems integrate effectively within structures
  • Analytical and reasoning skills: to assess risks and solve technical problems
  • Computer skills: proficiency in relevant software packages

You will also need a valid UK driving license as many roles require travel between sites to install, inspect, and maintain fire and security systems. This mobility is essential to meet the demands of the job efficiently.
